LoL 13.4 Patch Notes

Massive number of champions to receive buffs, nerfs, and changes

More or less catching up from the previously mentioned cyberattacks, Riot Games is planning to go big in the 13.4 update, hitting 20 champions with buffs, nerfs, and changes.

These champions range from the likes of Veigar, Cho'Gath, Alistar, and Ahri—who are all getting buffs—to Samira, Jax, and Maokai. It's clear that the developers want to get a strong grip on the meta.

Melee vs. Ranged Support: Who Wins?

Alongside the massive number of champion changes, the developers at Riot also want to get a handle on the melee versus ranged support battle.

Not being strangers to tackling bottom lane issues this season, as evidenced by previous changes melee support buffs in 13.3, Riot wants figure out a healthier way for both of them to coexist in the game. To fix the disparity, items like Relic Shield, Steel Shoulderguards, and Spellthief's Edge, all are getting significant changes.

Party Chat

Party chat is a new chat channel that allows you to chat just to your pre-made party members. Chat channels indicate who will see the messages you send, which was previously limited to team and all chat. The chat console will now show the chat channels receiving your messages to the left of your chat bar. You can toggle between the different channels with commands or the [tab] key, and change which channels are active for you in your settings. For quick access to party chat you can use the /party, /pt, or /p commands. Incoming Party chat messages will be indicated with [Party] before the message. Party chat will be the default chat setting for new players.

Behavioral Systems

New commands for /muteself and /deafen are available in-game

  • /muteself will prevent you from using text chat as well as notify other players you have muted yourself. You can undo this by using /muteself again
  • /deafen will prevent you from using text chat AND prevent yourself from seeing chat from other players, as well as notify other players you have muted yourself. You can undo this by using /deafen again

Competitive

  • LP win and loss amount when your visible rank approximately matches your MMR from 15 ⇒ 22. All gain and loss values are increased across the board.
  • Slightly increased the skill rating in matchmaking for duo players in Ranked Solo/Duo.
  • Split point progression will now be shown on the ranked end-of-game progression screen.

LoL 13.4 Skins

As always with a new patch, new skins get added to the game for players to enjoy. For LoL 13.4 there are three skins in total for players to enjoy.

In the Lol 13.4 patch, players can expect five brand-new skins all coming to the Astronaut skin line.

Astronaut Skins 2023

Champions such as Fizz, Ivern, Kennen, Xerath, and Singed will all be donning their space suits with blue and green theming that League players have grown to love.

Each of the skins includes retro-futuristic visuals with matching sound effects to boot. From asteroids and lasers to UFOs, each skin has its own futuristic space flare that the players can expect from the line. And, of course, both their abilities and animations fit the theme.

Official pricing for all three of these skins has yet to be announced, but as always, players can expect a ballpark range of 1350 RP to 1820 RP.
