LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga is just loaded with things to do and secrets to find. One of the biggest secrets early on is how the scavenger class works. Here's how to use scavengers in LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga and how to earn their abilities.
How to use Scavengers in LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga
Scavengers are a class of character you can find early on in the game, but you may not actually figure out how to use them for a long time. To get them as early as possible, play Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens before any of the others.
Fortunately, most uses of the Scavenger will require you to replay a level anyway so it really doesn't matter when you unlock their skills. After you pick this mission, you first have to play through the prologue as Poe, to unlock Rey.
After another mission, you will be sent through a brief tutorial to collect scrap, where you unlock all three of the Scavenger's central abilities. You can swap between them on the fly to glide across long distances, break open walls and scale buildings.
The Breakder Blaster can break surfaces that have small cracks in them. It is good for getting into secret areas.
The Glider, as the name suggests, lets you glide across open spaces.
The Net Launcher can be used to make nets on surfaces. You can only do two at a time so you have to plan your route accordingly.
How to Use the Glider
The Glider is a useful tool for both traversal and unlocking secrets. You have to go into the tool menu with B on Xbox or circle on PlayStation. From here, click on the glider. Your character will equip it and you can now glide across distances by clicking the jump button in the air.
From the upgrades menu, you can get the "Advanced Gliding" skill, allowing you to move even quicker in the air. This is a nice bonus that will make exploring the world in free play a lot more interesting. It should also make some earlier puzzles much easier to finish.
