Riot Games' first-person shooter Valorant has become a very popular entry to the hero shooter subgenre since its initial release back in 2020. The popularity it's gained isn't slowing down either. With a large following on the streaming platform Twitch, Riot Games are frequently finding themselves taking up two of the five most viewed categories.
This large pool of viewers has left many wondering what could come next for Valorant? In particular, many people are wondering if the hero shooter will come to their favourite consoles. Here's what we know right now.
Will Valorant Release on Consoles?
Unfortunately, for players wanting to climb the ranks of Valorant on their Xbox, PlayStation or even Nintendo Switch: There are currently no publicly known plans to bring the hero shooter to consoles.
It is, however, a little more complicated than just a flat "no". While there have been no public announcements regarding the porting of the game to consoles, it still looks like it will come to them. Eventually.
Riot Games recently posted a job listing on their website titled "Senior Game Designer, Console - Valorant" which suggests that the studio is at the very least looking into the possibility of bringing their popular hero shooter to consoles somewhere down the road. It just might not be for a while.
Further backing up this idea of a Valorant console port is the fact that we already know Riot is planning on expanding where players can enjoy the game as executive producer of the game Anna Donlon announced a mobile port to be in the works in June of 2021.
