Tunic is a wonderful little isometric title about a fox exploring a land they can't quite understand. With that intrigue comes a whole community looking to figure out every little secret. Hopefully, that community will get much bigger with a PlayStation port. Here's what we know so far.
Is Tunic coming to PS5 and PS4?
As of right now, there are no plans to release Tunic on other platforms. Although the game was developed by a single creator, it is being published by Finji. This may mean something for the future of the game.
Some games Finji have published are:
- Tunic
- Chicory: A Colorful Tale
- Wilmot's Warehouse
- Night in the Wood
- Overland
- Feist
- Canabalt
Though Chicory was a PlayStation exclusive, everything else has been multiplatform with time. This means that, if Tunic does well, Finji could eventually push it onto other platforms like PlayStation or Nintendo Switch.
Why might it come?
The response to Tunic has been pretty extraordinary so far. We praised its aesthetic and bold approach to puzzles saying "If you want something that really makes you feel like a child playing NES, this is one for you."
Outside of this, it has received near-unanimous praise, boasting an 85 on Metacritic. As well as this, it has seen a day one release on Xbox Game Pass, ensuring a pretty large player base on release. This great launch means more people will be looking for eventual ports. As long as they haven't signed some kind of exclusivity deal with Xbox, there's always a chance we could see it elsewhere.
If you really want to give it a go, maybe make Xbox and Finji aware - they've certainly shown a willingness to listen to their fans. We'll update you right here if we get any updates on this.
