Is NCAA football coming back to PS4?

NCAA Football was a top-selling game on the PS3, with a huge amount of fans.

The game wasn't halted because of performance but actually for legal issues.

But with some recent tweets, EA Sports have fans excited it could be returning.

NCAA Football on PS4

The last time we saw the NCAA Football franchise was in 2014 with the release of NCAA Football 14.

Due to conflicts with the NCAA (the governing body for student-athletes) around licensing of the players, the game was halted.

Even to this day, fans are desperate for its return, and many players keep their old consoles out just to be able to keep playing it.

There wasn't an NCAA title released on PS4 so the decision is likely going to come down to timing.

With the release of the PS5, a lot of the focus for game development will go on next-gen consoles that allow for more options.

If the game is already majorly through the development and is being targetted as a 2021 season release, then we could see a dual version on both PS5 and PS4.

If it is for the 2022 season, then this could be the point that games stop being dual capable and focus entirely on the PS5.

Will the new NCAA Football game be on Xbox?

The same issue applies to the Xbox One.

NCAA Football 14 was available on the Xbox 360. So again, depending on timing, we would expect to see the same situation with the Xbox One and Xbox Series X.

Will the new NCAA Football game be available outside the US?

This will be a big question for the growing fanbase outside of the US.

Even in the last six years, the growth for the game outside the US has grown massively. With growing NFL fans and Madden players, naturally, the College game grows too.

Historically, the NCAA Football games were region protected. So you needed a US console and game to be able to play them.

With the globalization of gaming, this is less prominent with game releases now so we would expect to see a title that anyone can play.
