Fortnite Season 3 Chapter 2 has been delayed until the middle of June.
Although fans aren't happy, this will be much better for the longterm health of the game, as we'll get a more polished product.
There has been some speculation that Epic will bring back the map from Chapter One due to fans not enjoying their experience with the new one.
However, there are a few features of the map that point towards some sort of flood event for the new map.
This would lead to a change of pace and some possible focus on water-based combat.
New Map Changes
Each Season Epic adds massive changes to the Fortnite map.
OUT WITH THE OLD - Renegade Raider could return with the new season alongside a host of old Fortnite skins!
These changes typically mean there are new Points of Interest (POI) and locations for players to explore keeping the game feeling fresh and fun.
This also changes up where people like to drop. When this comes to the competitive game modes, it changes up how players move through the map.

Season 2 Points of Interest
With the release of Season 2, we saw the addition of 'Agency'. This location added an awesome new headquarters at the centre of the map.
SLURPY SWAMPS - Head to Slurpy Swamps for some easy healing spots!
There were also coastal changes and a brand new cave added.
Another big addition was the Oil rig, on the South-Western side of the map.

Chapter 1 Map Returning
Fans of Fortnite have been wanting the return of the old map for a little while now.
X MARKS THE SPOT - There's a possibility we'll see the map from Season X return in Season 3 Chapter 2!
All players, from casual to pros have found issues with the new map. The main one being that the map is too big and doesn't have enough rotational tools.

This means you end up running to the next zone for the majority of the match.
By the end of Season X, the old Fortnite map felt well balanced with a good amount of utility for players to get around.
With the most recent event (Travis Scott's Astronomical) we saw the return of the butterfly.
This hints towards another possible map switch coming with Season 3. We'll have to wait for the upcoming Doomsday event to actually find out where we're headed for the new season.
Season 3 Theme
The recent leaks and Easter eggs point towards some sort of Awautic theme for Season 3.
AGENCY - Agency was a key POI in Season 2 Chapter 2!
With hints in-game relating to 'Noah's Ark' we may see a huge flood destroy the current map.
It seems unlikely Epic would go back on their decision to change maps for the release of Chapter 2.
