September's PS5 event saw the reveal of a new Harry Potter game titled Hogwarts Legacy.
Hogwarts Legacy will be an RPG/adventure game set in the Harry Potter universe, but not centred around Harry and the gang.
Unfortunately, us muggles will have to wait a little bit longer to head through Platform 9 3/4.
Hogwarts Legacy Delayed
WB Games have announced today that Hogwarts Legacy will be delayed until 2022, after originally being scheduled to release later this year.
In a statement on the Hogwarts Legacy Twitter, WB Games announced the delay saying,
"We would like to thank fans from around the world
on the tremendous reaction to the announcement of Hogwarts Legacy from our Portkey Games label.
Creating the best possible experience for all of the Wizarding World and gaming fans
is paramount to us so we are giving the game the time it needs.
Hogwarts Legacy will be released in 2022."
What Is Hogwarts Legacy
Hogwarts Legacy is an action RPG game set in the Harry Potter universe during the 1800s.
The game is being developed by Avalanche Software, the studio behind games such as the Disney Infinity series, the Sega Genesis and SNES port of Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3 and the PS1 port of Mortal Trilogy Trilogy, as well as many movie adaptations, everything from Rugrats to Toy Story.
Hogwart Legacy sees the player take control of a student at Hogwarts, where they will be able to choose their House, attend classes, and explore the vast open world with many iconic locations from the Harry Potter series.
