A voice clip, datamined from the Halo Infinite technical alpha, has been leaked and it suggests that a Battle Royale mode will be included in the game's multiplayer modes.
Would you be on board if Halo Infinite included a Battle Royale game mode or are you done with the concept due to the oversaturation in the market?
Halo Infinite Battle Royale Leak
Thanks to user DukeBlueBall on ResetEra, a voice clip has been leaked from the Halo Infinite technical alpha game files. The reason there is a belief that it hints at the inclusion of a Battle Royale mode is that the clip is of the announcer saying, well, 'Battle Royale'.
It wouldn't be any great surprise to see Halo Infinite include such a mode but given how many exist currently, they'll need to being something brand new to the table. The unique selling point of the mode cannot be that it's just a Halo Battle Royale.
Given the sci-fi setting and historical content that the team will have to work with, a Halo Infinite Battle Royale could be something special if done right.
343 Deny a Battle Royale Mode Is in the Works
Back in 2019, which seems a lot further back than it actually was, 343 Industries shook off claims that a Battle Royale mode would be included in Halo Infinite.
Since then, Warzone launched and became of the biggest titles of the last 18 months and Fortnite has seen a resurgence in its player base.
It could be that the mode was always being considered for inclusion but the original release date would not allow it to be available at launch. Having delayed the game until late 2021, that additional time may have allowed for the mode to be ready in time for release, hence it's inclusion.
