It's been a long wait since Rockstar first revealed GTA V would be coming to the PS5, but finally the new console has arrived.

GTA V Next-Gen Release Date
Rockstar confirmed that a remastered GTA V would be coming to the next generation of consoles in the second half of 2021.
Of course, with the PS5's backwards compatibility feature, you'll be able to play the current edition of GTA V as soon as you get your PS5, but it'll be a bit of a wait until we get our hands on an upgraded version.
PS5 Release Date
The PS5 released on 12 November across US, Japan, Canada, Mexico, Australia, New Zealand and South Korea.
However, for the rest of the world, 19 November is the big day.

With GTA V hitting its third generation of consoles, Rockstar released a special next-gen trailer.

Next-Gen Upgrades
Rockstar has also revealed a few key aspects that will be improved as part of the next-gen edition of the game:

- Visual upgrades
- Performance enhancements
Rockstar has stated that they are making these changes 'to take full advantage of the latest hardware, making the game more beautiful and more responsive than ever'.
GTA Online on Next-Gen
For all you GTA Online players, don't worry rockstar hasn't forgotten about you.
GTA Online will return on next-gen with more updates, including new content that will be exclusive to the new consoles and PC.
Standalone GTA Online Game
Moreover, Rockstar has revealed that there will be a standalone version of GTA Online, also arriving in the second half of 2021.
This standalone game will be free exclusively to PS5 players for the first three months following release.
PS Plus Bonus
GTA Online will offer $1m in GTA Cash to PlayStation Plus members on PS4 every month leading up to the release of GTA Online on PS5.
