The Contract is a game-changing expansion - and we don't say that lightly. GTA Online's newest update is adding substantial narrative content that follows on from Grand Theft Auto V's single-player mode for the first time and there's going to be new vehicles and a Radio Station update included. However, one thing that's going to be of interest to everyone is the new weapons being included in The Contract.
Here's everything you need to know about the new firepower Franklin is bringing to the fight.
All the new weapons coming in The Contract
At the moment, we're under the impression that three new weapons are going to be added to GTA Online through The Contract - The Heavy Rifle, the Compact EMP Launcher, and the Stun Gun.
The Stun Gun isn't going to be exactly the same as the Stun Gun you've seen and used in Grand Theft Auto V's single-player mode - however, it's going to work similarly and will still pack a punch!
As you can see below, the Heavy Rifle is going to cost GTA$ 414,000 at its base price:
You can pick the Heavy Rifle up from Ammunation as soon as you download the update. As for the Stun Gun and the Compact EMP Launcher, these should be available to unlock via The Contract missions and unlock the Armory in the Agency.
The Compact EMP Launcher will set you back GTA$ 456,750 - it's a one-shot, 12-second reload that disables any vehicle for around three seconds. The Stun Gun isn't cheap either, that's going to cost you a little less at GTA$ 326,250.
In addition to this, it looks like The Contract is adding a select set of new variant weapons based on these new additions to the Ammunation stock. We don't have all the information about all the new variants just yet - the update has only just dropped - but we do know there's going to be some for the Heavy Rifle and we can imagine that existing weapons will receive a festive variant before too long.
The Contract is easily one of the most comprehensive GTA Online updates yet and it's shining a bright light on the title for the future - however, just how long are we going to need to wait for something more along the same lines as this? The Los Santos Tuners update, again, was a fantastic expansion - but that was released almost half a year ago. It's also a clear sign that Red Dead Online isn't going to ever be a priority to Rockstar Games - this is another instance of updates where GTA Online has a monumental amount of new content in comparison to Red Dead Online's latest offerings.
