GTA Online: How to alter your appearance and change your gender

When you jump into GTA Online for the first time, you'll be encouraged to create a character before you set off on your own adventure in Los Santos. The character you create here is going to be the character you stick with for the duration of your time with GTA Online - well... Unless you check out the new Short Trip missions from The Contract update.

There are a few things you can change about your character - but there are also some things you can't - and it doesn't come cheap. Here's everything you need to know.

How to Change your Appearance in GTA Online

If you want to change your appearance in GTA Online - as in, changing your entire face - you can. All you need to do is open the Interaction Menu by holding 'down' on your Directional Pad and then selecting 'Style', then 'Change Appearance'.

The decision to do this does come at a cost, though. You're going to need to pay out GTA$ 100,000 if you want to change your appearance in GTA Online.

MASKS - Can't afford the price? Just wear a mask!

There are a lot of things you can do to spruce up your appearance in GTA Online without following through with this, though. There are clothing stores scattered all throughout Los Santos and Blaine County and a few Tattoo Parlours worth checking out. In addition to this, you can also change your hairstyle - or just buy a full-face mask from one of the few retailers that sell them.

It's important to note that you can't change your Gender in GTA Online without creating an entirely new character. We don't know why this feature hasn't been implemented yet, but we would hazard a guess at the fact that a lot of the clothing items are specific to your character's gender. It's something we hope to see implemented in the future, but we're not so sure it's coming. Rockstar Games hasn't mentioned it.
