The next-gen version of Grand Theft Auto 5 could be coming a lot sooner than everyone thinks if this new 4Chan leak is to be believed.
We know the words "4Chan leak" don't scream authentic information, so take the following with a pretty big pinch of salt (or a salt substitute) alright?
LEAK: New Trailer & Release Date Coming Soon
According to a "Rockstar developer", there should be an announcement from Rockstar Games on April 28th regarding the Enhanced and Expanded version of Grand Theft Auto 5 coming to PS5 and Xbox Series X|S at some point this year.
However, this isn't all. Allegedly, the release date will also be revealed to be June 22nd! Seems pretty soon right?
The 4Chan post in question said the following:
" Rockstar developer here, just heard that GTA 5 e&e is going to be announced on 28 April with just a trailer nothing too grand
Release date is set for 22 June. Remember folks you heard it from me first."
As you can imagine, the comments are less than sympathetic as there isn't a lot of evidence to support this.
What Do We Know About GTA 5 E&E So Far?
Officially, it's really not that much at all. Of course, we know a lot about the original release of Grand Theft Auto 5 (and GTA 5 on the PS4 / Xbox One) but the next-gen release remains largely a mystery to us.
It's been quite a while since the next-gen version of GTA 5 was announced by Rockstar Games and you can see the only trailer we have below:
Coincidentally, this was announced on June 11th, 2020. So... A June release date for the next-gen version somehow makes sense even though we haven't really heard anything official yet.
There are rumours that all the GTA Online-exclusive content is being ported to the Single Player game in this improved version, but there's also a next-gen version of GTA Online on the way so we're not so sure about that.
