Goldeneye 007: Cancelled Remastered Game Footage Leaks Online

Most children of the 80s and 90s will have fond memories of Goldeneye 007 on the N64.

A groundbreaking game for its time that helped usher in a new standard for the FPS genre that can still be seen today.

Goldeneye Remastered

Back in 2007, there were plans for a remastered port of Goldeneye 007 to be released on the Xbox 360.

The game was as good as finished before it was cancelled and lost forever.

Ina 2015 Phil Spencer explained the difficulties in getting the port off the ground and why it was ultimately cancelled.

"Goldeneye rights are so challenging, looked at this many times. Lot's of different parties to work with, we've always given up."

It seems that a copy of the remastered port does exist somewhere on the internet because recently a full 2-hour long play was posted to YouTube.

In the video, we get to see the game from start to finish be played, and it looks completely playable and in a finished state.

The gameplay still looks identical to the N64 version, just with enhanced graphics, which to be honest look like how we all imagine it does in our heads as we remember the game fondly.

The uploader, Graslu00, says in the video description that the game is going to be released online in 2021, but won't give any details on it.

Will we finally get to play this lost piece of history?
