God of War Ragnarok is finally arriving in the next couple of days and PlayStation gamers wanting to jump in straight away can pre-load the game onto their console.
Regardless of whether they're playing this game on their PS4 or the upgraded version on their PS5, one fact remains the same. If you're planning on playing God of War Ragnarok, you're going to need a lot of storage space.
How much storage space will you need? Let's talk about the install size on both consoles.

God of War Ragnarok Download Size For PS5
Starting with the premier version of God of War Ragnarok, the PS5 copy of the game will reportedly have a download size of 84GB, a massive download size when compared to the 2018 prequel's measly 45GB when it was released.
This difference in size comes down to the massive difference in the scope of the two titles, with God of War Ragnarok containing all nine of the realms found in Norse mythology as opposed to the selection found in the prior game.
While this size is large, it still pales in comparison to the PS4 version of the game, however, which can't compress a lot of the scope as well as the next-gen system.

The Past-gen version of the game, meanwhile is a much beefier ask for your storage drive, with 107GB required to install the game onto the console.
While this is a daunting filesize, especially for the older PlayStation models that potentially only have 500GB to go around, the anticipation surrounding God of War Ragnarok and the early impressions of the game makes it feel like it's going to be more than worth the sacrifice(s) made to free up the space in your system to enjoy Sony Santa Monica's latest narrative adventure with Kratos and Atreus.
