Primogems are incredibly easy to burn through in Genshin Impact, and once you go thin bringing their count up is far from easy. A packed patch will reward thousands of gems for F2P players but since it is all FOMO-driven, if you snooze, you lose.

That means you have to focus on everything that pops up in the game. Below are all those things that give you Primogems fast in Genshin Impact.

Biggest Source of Primogems in Genshin Impact

Daily Commission, Events, Endgame, Quests, and Exploration are your major sources for Primogems in Genshin Impact.

Daily Commissions

You get a total of 60 Primogems every day for completing commissions in Genshin Impact. Yeah, that's a grand total of a whopping 2,520 Primogems per patch, which doesn't sound all that impressive. But that's the largest you get from one single source in the game.

A six-week patch cycle will reward you with anything between 60 to 90-plus wishes depending on how big it is. Daily commissions are giving you almost a quarter of that total pull.

Yes, yes, we know it is 2025, and nobody does these "quests" anymore thanks to Encounter Points. So, just craft a Condensed Resin, claim points through the handbook, head to the Guild, and get done with it.

If you also purchase Welkin Moon all the time, combining it with the commission can fetch you 150 Primogems every day—about 40 wishes per patch.

Events

After Daily Commission, events are your most consistent and the largest source of Primogems every patch. Each version has around 4 small events rewarding 400 Primogems each and a major one rewarding around 1,000 Primogems.

Every event in the game is limited-time and typically lasts around two weeks, with new ones beginning after the previous leaves. Not all challenges in the events are unlocked from the get-go either. The best way is to wait for a week and then run through them if you can't play longer hours every day.

Endgame

At the time of writing, there are two endgame content in Genshin Impact, Imaginarium Theater and Spiral Abyss. They are rotated every 1st and 16th of each month.

Both of them reward 800 Primogems if you get the highest possible score. First clears also reward additional Primogems.

Of course, these are "endgame" content so you can only do them when you have a lot of characters maxed out. Beginners will have to sit out, at least until they have 12 to 20 80-90 level characters.

Quests

Quests are another major source of Primogems, particularly Archon and World Quests. We recommend not skipping on them. A lot of exploration areas are locked behind WQ too, so that's another batch of Primogems you'd miss if you skipped them.

For regular quests, there are Character, Hangout, and Side Quest. Yes, they do give a decent amount of Primogems and if you're a new player you'll be finishing them left and right out of excitement. But there are so many of them, there is a high chance you'll be burned out. If you do feel some signs of loosening interest, just do AQ and some WQs here and there.

You can do rapid taps to quickly move through the dialogues in any quest in Genshin Impact. Though we don't suggest doing that for important quests, nobody will judge you for doing it as long as you don't tell anyone.

Exploration

While simply exploring and opening chests won't fetch you the same amount of Primogems as some of the other things we listed, you get stuff like Sigils and Oculus that can be used to level up the offering system for plenty of wishes and Primogems.

Plus, you get limited-time exploration rewards if you explore newer regions and complete them before the time on the event menu expires.

Chest farming becomes near-effortless with Treasure Compass, which can be unlocked by levelling up the region's reputation. So, that is one thing we recommend doing for every region.

Those were all the major sources for Primogems in Genshin Impact. Other sources include Achievements, Web Events, codes, random in-game mail rewards, and livestream codes.

A typical efficient schedule in Genshin Impact, if you're working hard shifts on a job, is to do dailies every day and other content on the weekend. Things are always drip-fed, so waiting a bit unlocks good chunks for efficiently farming content like events.
