How to Switch characters in Genshin Impact?
Switching your main character while on the field is pretty easy:
- For PC players, the four characters are designated on the keys 1-4 (5 being an addition, usually in character trials),
- For PlayStation users, they're assigned on the DualShock 4's directional pad;
- and for mobile players, you can tap on their portraits at the right side of the screen.
How to change party setup in Genshin Impact?
If you need to swap out characters for a new one that's not on your current party, you need to access the Paimon menu first, then selecting Party Setup.
From here, you'll have the opportunity to swap out characters from your entire roster of collected characters. Pick a character from your currently-active team, and choose who to swap them with afterwards.
You can also rearrange your active team's order through 1-4 by dragging a character towards the slot in order from left to right.

Keep leveling characters that you feel best fits your playstyle and current equipment available. It will save you in the long run, and at some point you won't even have to worry about Elemental weaknesses.
Keep in mind that you can also switch out characters that have been knocked out--when their HP hits 0.
