Genshin Impact 2.6 is introducing a new explorable area called The Chasm. The land is a gigantic mine built over the crater of an ancient battleground.
Mentioned many times during the Genshin Impact storyline, The Chasm is the natural border between Liyue and the Dendro nation.
It is divided into two parts, the surface, and the underground. While travelers can explore the surface of The Chasm from the beginning, the underground requires unlocking.
Here's our guide for everything you need to know to unlock the undermines and the new Archon Quest in The Chasm in Genshin Impact 2.6.
New Archon Quest Requirements: Requiem of the Echoing Depths
For players interested in taking part in the Archon Quest Chapter II, Act IV: Requiem of the Echoing Depths, you'll need to meet the following requirements:
- Adventure Rank 30 or above
- Reach Inazuma
- Complete the Archon Quest: Omnipresence Over Mortals
- Unlock The Chasm Underground Mines
The new Archon Story will reveal more details about the past of the Traveler the Abyss and the event of the Kaenri'ah Cataclysm.
For new players, this might take around two weeks of dedicated playing - and while the first 3 milestones are achievable from the start, the last, unlocking the Underground Mines, is its own process entirely.

Unlocking the Underground Mines
The Chasm, at first sight, looks like a massive and complex underground system of tunnels.
It is said the Geo Archon, along with the Yakshas, battled Azhdaha in this area. Traces of destruction from this fight can be seen in Lingju Pass and Dunyu Ruins.
The crater is also said to be created by an enormous celestial body, probably one of the causes of the Cataclysm.
So how do you unlock the Underground Mines in The Chasm in Genshin Impact 2.6? First, you'll need to destroy the Bedrock Keys.
Bedrock Keys
While the surface will be available for exploration, the underground is locked by a seal, as the Liyue Qixing created a magic array to close off access to the mines.
Players will need to destroy Bedrock Keys to remove this and unlock the Underground Mines of The Chasm.
To do this, players will need to use Cage-Shaped Geo cages near the Bedrock Keys which will destroy them.
Another element in The Chasm's surface will be big Rock Pillars. These are debris from the Rex Lapis vs. Azhdaha fight. These rocks will be necessary to unlock puzzles using the Elemental Resonance.
While it seems like a lot, these are just the initial challenges The Chasm will present to Travelers! We still have yet to learn what lies beyond, but you can be sure we'll soon learn through Genshin Impact 2.6.
