Gears 5 made it's Next Gen debut last week, as a brand new update was released in order to optimise the title for the Series X|S.
And now the multiplayer suite is back, and it is joined by the largest operation to date!
Operation 5: Hollow Storm
The latest update brings Operation 5: Hollow Storm to Gears 5, and it's a big one!
Optimised Gaming
Gears 5 multiplayer has returned, and it's back with a bang!
Multiplayer now supports 120 fps in its versus multiplayer mode on both the Series X and the Series S.
The premium console will also see a huge increase in its graphics, as the tile now supports 4k Ultra resolution thanks to the new Ultra-HD pack and the Ultra-Spec graphics quality.
Throwback
The themed update will throw fans back into battles of years gone by as Gears of War 2 and Gears of War 3 favourites Dizzy Wallin and Skorge return.
There is also the addition of Nexus - an Imulsion-themed map - as well as the return of an absolute classic weapon, the Scorcher!
Five Maps
Yes, you heard that right. There will be five new maps heading to Gears 5 as part of this massive update.
- Nexus
- Regency
- Gridlock - Gears of War Return
- Clocktower - Gears of War Return
- River - Gears of War 2 Return
So whether you fancy jumping into a brand new Gears 5 map or if you fancy reminiscing on some old classics, there is something for you in this latest update.
Seven Characters
Speaking of throwbacks, there are seven 'new' characters heading to Gears 5 as part of this update.
Gears of War 2 favourites Dizzy Wallin, Tai Kaliso and Skorge return, whilst Anya Stroud, Lambent Drone, Lambent Grenadier and Lambent Theron Guard all make their way across from Gears of War 3.
