G-SHOCK has revealed a new three-piece watch capsule known as the Digital Glitch Series which, as the name suggests, has been inspired by electrical noise, static, and computerised malfunctions.
The collection includes the square-cased DW-5600, the octagonal bezel GA-2100, and the analog-digital GA-2200, all of which feature similar static designs created using the latest multi-angle printing technology along with polarised ink.
Their unique aesthetics channel a more futuristic approach to watch design. As a result, the entire collection is completely unique to anything we've seen from G-SHOCK in the 5600, 2100, or 2200 ranges in the past.
With that in mind, here's everything we know about the launch of the G-SHOCK Digital Glitch Series so far...
G-SHOCK Digital Glitch Series OUT NOW
Revealed in June, the entire Digital Glitch Series is available now from the Casio store.
The DW-5600NN-1 is the cheapest of the three models, with an online store price of $199.
The GA-2100NN-1A is then a slight step up, coming in at $219, while the GA-2200NN-1A is the most expensive watch of the three as it retails for $249 online at the time of writing.
G-SHOCK Digital Glitch Series Design And Features
As mentioned, each watch features digital glitch printing applied using polarised ink into the semitranslucent casing, plus G-SHOCK's usual 200-meter water resistance, shock resistance, stopwatch, and countdown timer function.
All three watches also come equipped with lights for the digital display as well as a backlight function to give a clear view of the face in the dark.
The GA-2100NN-1A and GA-2200NN-1A then take things a step further as they can be set to 31 different time zones that cover 48 cities across the globe, and have an approximate battery life of 3 years rather than the 2-year lifespan of the DW-5600NN-1 on CR2016.
These two models also allow you to set 5 daily alarms to help you keep on top of your everyday routine and lifestyle.
They also feature Neobrite in the casing which, when you shine a light on it, will leave the watches glowing in the dark to help showcase the digital static effect in greater detail.
Finally, the GA-2100NN-1A and GA-2200NN-1A come with a Carbon Core Guard structure, which is made from fine resin that incorporates carbon fibre for improved lightness along with rigidity that is superior to that of G-SHOCK's usual resin.
