*LATEST* Servers Back Online
The 21.50 Fortnite Update has now been fully implemented and the game's servers are back online and playable for everyone to enjoy and explore the changes added right away.
For a look at some of the future changes, however, look below at some of the leaks this downtime has provided us with.
Changes to Islands
Perhaps one of the weirdest changes in this update was posted by ShiinaBR who revealed massive changes to the islands East of Sanctuary. The biggest of those islands has seemingly gained cliffsides similar to that of Lazy Lagoon (Formerly The Daily Bugle).
New Weapons Leaked By Challenges
iFireMonkey also gave us a look at the upcoming weekly challenges and potentially leaked the addition of some weapons ahead of time with some timed quests.
The weapons featured in Week 13 and Week 14 are:
- Shadow Bombs
- Shield Bubbles
- Suppressed SMG
- Suppressed AR
- Primal Flame Bow
- Dragon's Breath Shotgun
Double Jump
According to iFireMonkey, a new visualize sounds icon was added for a double jump, suggesting that a new jump feature is being added in the near future or is at least being worked on in the background.
Dead Game Skin Added
If you've been around social media for any amount of time while playing Fortnite, you've likely seen the avalanche of "Dead Game" messages that appear from gamers who dislike the battle royale.
A common meme in the gaming community for multiplayer games, it seems like Fortnite is now taking a dig at these users, by adding a skin that mocks the idea to the game, likely as the next starter pack skin.
*UPDATE* New TikTok Dance Emote In Season 4
As one of the most popular social media platforms out there, TikTok has had many of its memes and dances make their way into Fortnite with the latest set to be the "Jiggle Jiggle" dance as shown above in-game by MidaRado.
The emote could potentially be featured in next season's battle pass.
*UPDATED* Rainbow Royale + Battlebus
Rainbow Royale is returning to Fortnite once again with a new set of skins and other cosmetics and this time, potentially even a themed battle bus will be joining the party after the Dragon Ball one is removed.
Two new loading screens have been added, with HD looks provided by reliable Fortnite leaker iFireMonkey.
The in-game event will also feature an in-game Rainbow and colourful Aurora in the sky to celebrate the Rainbow Royale event as shown below by FN_Assist on Twitter.
Junk Junktion Possibly Returning
According to HYPEX and various other sources, a new POI has been added in this Fortnite Update by the name of "Logjam Junction". While unconfirmed, many players believe that this will see the return of Junk Junktion in some form, taking over from the popular location that was added in Season 3.
*UPDATED* Update Sizes
Thanks to German Fortnite leaker MidaRado, we now know the sizes of the Fortnite update on some of the different platforms. We will list them below:
- Xbox One - 6GB
- Xbox X/S - 4.4GB
- PS5 - 2.3GB
- PC - 1.42GB
Typical Gamer's Locker Bundle
A locker bundle has been added to the Fortnite item shop including the Tsuki skin, Tahna Back Bling, Studded Pickaxe, Rainbow Rodeo weapon wrap and Reanimated emote.
The bundle was first released in Chapter 2, Season 6 and will likely still cost players who want it 2,100 V-Bucks once it is purchasable again. The items were selected by Typical Gamer themselves.
Downtime Now Underway
The 21.50 Fortnite Update is now being added to the game and the servers have been taken down while the update is implemented.
21.50 Release Date
21.50 Release Time
The date, according to the reliable Fortnite leaker and news source HYPEX, is set for Tuesday, August 30th 2022 with a smaller update (known as 21.51) being set for a week later.
While this date isn't officially confirmed, it does line up with the weekly quests we currently know about, with new ones set to be added with the update.
The date will officially be confirmed a week beforehand when it's added to staging servers and we can expect the update to arrive at the usual time of 1 am PST / 4 am EST / 9 am BST.
21.50 Server Downtime.
There will be a period of server downtime between 2-4 hours when the 21.50 Fortnite update is added to the game.
During this time, no players will be able to log into Fortnite at all.
An additional 30 minutes of downtime before the update begins ensures no players are in the game while the changes are being made.
*UPDATED* What to Expect From 21.50
According to reliable Fortnite Leaker and news source HYPEX, the 21.50 update is likely to see more information on the latest Crew Pack and the potential return of the Pump Shotgun.
The biggest thing to be expected out of the 21.50 Fortnite Update, however, is the potential for more leaks and information finally being revealed in regards to Season 4, something which we currently know very little about.
This update could finally reveal to us the theme for next season including its battle pass and beyond if we are lucky though we won't know anything officially until the update arrives.
The content added or changed will also likely set up the end of season 3 ahead of Season 4's arrival in September with the continued growth and development of the Reality Tree across Fortnite island likely at its centre.
The "Vibin'" questline and reality-warping themes of this season suggest that the end of Season 3 event will likely involve it so expect to continue growing and distorting the map.
