Despite Fortnite Season 2 being just 2 weeks old, the first major update, 20.10, is here already!
It looks like we're set for four big updates across the duration of Season 2 but that doesn't include any surprise smaller updates and hotfixes.
Here's everything you need to know about Fortnite Update 20.10 ahead of its potential launch.
Servers are Live - What's New?
As Fortnite Update 20.10 is now completed, new items, modes and story content is slowly being discovered. Here's a summary of everything we know so far.
- The Chilli Chug Splash has been Unvaulted
- Zero Build Arena files have been uploaded - No-Build Ranked could be coming soon!
- Voice files for Week 3 & 4 quests have been uploaded and suggest that The Paradigm is setting up a big plan (future event?)
- Klombo quests have been added
- The Seven's tanks have been added
- IO Tower location discovered
- An Eivor (Assassin's Creed Valhalla) skin has been added to the game!
Server Downtime has begun
Fortnite Update 20.10 is underway and servers are down!
Leaks will begin soon and we'll keep you up to date with all the biggest news!
Minor changes made pre-20.10
Thanks to a small hotfix, some minor gameplay changes have taken place just before Fortnite Update 20.10.
Not only have some weapons seen their damage nerfed but Tanks have also been taken out of competitive modes entirely.
Update coming next week!
Fortnite Update 20.10 has been uploaded to the staging servers which can mean only one thing, it's coming next week!
As usual, once a Fortnite Update is added to the staging servers, it starts a seven-day countdown to its release.
Fortnite Update 20.10 Release Date & Time
We're expecting a bit of a wait between now and when Fortnite 20.10 launches. The first major update of a new season is usually around four weeks post-release. With that in mind, we anticipate Fortnite Update 20.10 to release on Tuesday, 5 April.
As for release time, that should be the same as usual. Server downtime will begin around 01:00 PST / 04:00 EST / 09:00 BST / 10:00 CET. Matchmaking will be disabled around 30 minutes prior to downtime to allow games in progress to finish.
What to expect
It's hard to predict what Fortnite Update 20.10 will bring as we're still so early on in Season 2. Building is set to return well before the update is live but we could see the addition of a permanent no-build mode.
Building is still possible in Arena and other game modes but the addition of an ever-present no-build mode could see a ton of players return or try the game out.
We're also expecting an event to take place sometime this season to help really push the story progression. It could be that we have to wait all the way until the end but the optimist within us would like to see something a bit sooner.
More Star Wars content was updated during the Season 2 update leaving us sure that something big is coming soon. Again, whether or not it happens in this update or not is yet to be seen. We can't help but feel like there is something coming soon though.
