The first update of Fortnite Season 8 is over and it is set to introduce some big changes in the coming days! Like last season, the first few updates are likely to be rolled out every two weeks. After this, they will become more frequent.
Here's everything we know so far about Fortnite Update 18.10...
LATEST - Patch Notes available following update
The Patch Notes for Update 18.10 are ready. They detail all of the major changes made to Battle Royale, Save the World and Creative game modes.
Fortnite Update 18.10 Release Time/Server Downtime
Fortnite Update 18.10 should release on Tuesday, 28 September. We see no reason why the update day will change in Season 8, even though it went live on a Monday.
Server downtime is expected from 09:00 BST / 04:00 EST / 01:00 PST. Again, this follows the format from all previous updates excluding those that begin a season. Severs are likely to remain down for anywhere up to two hours depending on the size of the update.
None of the recent Fortnite Updates have been huge in download size. We don't expect this one to be any different. The overall Fortnite game file is fairly well-optimized. This means that content that is no longer needed is removed from the game and replaced where necessary.
Steamy Stacks Destruction
In a recent update trailer from Fortnite, a scene is shown with a destroyed Steamy Stacks in plain view. This is not the state that the POI currently finds itself in. It's likely going to happen soon as part of the story. It could be that Update 18.10 implements these changes and we see exactly what happens very soon.
It could also be linked to the moving cubes which are still keeping players guessing as to what the endgame is. We are set to learn more on 1 October when it's believed we'll get the payoff for this mystery.
We can't wait to learn more about the Season 8 story including who the mystery Battle Pass character is, but we'll have to wait a little longer!
