Epic Games has just issued another Hotfix update for Fortnite Season 8 - more specifically, version 18.30. In this update, the Sideways Rifle has been enhanced and there's a new Combat Pistol you can get your hands on. Here's everything you need to know about both of these key changes.
COMBAT PISTOL - Replacing the Standard Pistol
Fortnite's Combat Pistol is the handgun equivalent of the Combat Assault Rifle, really. It's going to deal more damage, but have a larger kick. This isn't something Fortnite players will be strangers to, but it does make things a little interesting...
" Like the Combat Assault Rifle, the Combat Pistol sports a tight bullet spread and exceptional power. This power coincides with strong recoil, so it takes a savvy yielder to fire its full potential."
If you want to get your hands on this new Combat Pistol, all you need to do is play Fortnite - really. It's being added as Floor Loot, Chest Loot, and Fishing Loot. Not only this, but it's actually replacing the Standard Pistol throughout Fortnite Island.
This means you won't have any choice but to pick up the Combat Pistol if you're looting!
SIDEWAYS RIFLE - Updated and Enhanced
In addition to this new Combat Pistol, Fortnite is also getting an update for its Sideways Rifle.
The Sideways Rifle can now charge faster and has an extended duration before it overheats. It's also more accurate. Basically, Epic Games has super-charged the Sideways Rifle for the next week - at least.
" The Sideways Rifle has seen some refinements! It now reaches its superpowered state (or “close to overheating” state) faster, stays there longer, and is more accurate."
