We're in the closing weeks for Fortnite Season 7 and things might start to calm down a little following about six weeks of constant updates and content drops.
That's not to say there's nothing to be excited about, because we have plenty to talk about regarding Fortnite Season 7, Week 12!
LATEST - J Balvin Cup Announced
We had a sneaky suspicion that J Balvin was arriving in Fortnite soon but we didn't realise it would be this week and with his very own J Balvin Cup.
The J Balvin Cup will start on Tuesday, 24 August and give you a chance to win the skin before it hits the Item Store on Thursday, 26 August.
Fortnite Season 8 Patches are underway
The Fortnite leaker community came together to confirm that Epic is working on Fortnite update 18.10, signifying that work has begun on Season 8. This follows news a few weeks back that Update 17.50 would be the last of Season 7.
When Fortnite Season 7 first started, updates were slow and only came every few weeks. It was only towards the end of the season that weekly updates returned and helped bring the hype back to the season after a strong start.
More new skins heading our way
We now know we'll be getting J Balvin and Morty skins following announcements made over the weekend. Both had been rumoured for some time but official confirmation was taking its sweet, sweet time.
The Mecha Morty skin will also arrive with the Get Schwifty emote as well as a new back bling and harvesting tool.
Scrapped cosmetics
@iFireMonkey on Twitter was able to confirm some cosmetic items that were in the works but actually never released in Fortnite. Most surprising is that these were all fairly high profile additions should they have happened.
Weekly Quests and Alien Artifacts
As we pointed out last week, Alien Artifacts are no longer being added to the game as of Week 11 so do not expect any more to drop this Thursday.
As for the weekly quests, they'll be live at the usuals times of 15:00 BST on Wednesday for Legendary and 15:00 BST on Thursday for the Epic Quests.
