Fortnite Chapter 3 officially starts in December & Chapter 2 Event Countdown has begun

TheyAfter weeks of leaks and rumours, Epic Games has finally confirmed that Fortnite Chapter 3 will begin in December, preceded by the End of Chapter 2 live event.

Fortnite Chapter 3 Officially Confirmed

Epic has officially confirmed the new beginning for Fortnite via the trailer for Chapter 2 Season 8's finale event, which is the end of the current storyline. You can check out the trailer below:

The event will take place at 4pm ET/9pm GMT on December 4, with the new chapter presumably beginning a day or two later. This is the first time that a season has ended on a Saturday, at least in Chapter 2.

You'll also find a countdown in the Fortnite lobby menu, which ends at 4pm ET/9pm GMT on December 4 as well.

With The Convergence complete, The Cube Queen prepares her endgame for the Island and nothing will ever be the same. Grab your weapons and fight the ultimate destroyer of all reality. Join “The End,” a one-time only, in-game event and battle for your legacy.

As part of the event, players will take on the Cube Queen in a final showdown and can join up with 15 other players in one squad.

The event will be a one time only thing, so be sure to log in early on the day. It'll likely be followed by an extended period of downtime as we wait for Chapter 3 to go live.

Due to the season ending a little early, players will get a couple of bonuses. They are:

All players who log in before the end of the Season will receive a 225,000 XP reward.

Players who fight back The Cube Queen by attending “The End” will unlock a special Loading Screen and Wrap!
