Many summoners in League of Legends have had their Discord freeze on them after winning (or losing) a match. This common problem has affected players worldwide and is annoying to miss out on post-game celebrations.
Some people have attributed it to a connection issue, but other players have "fixed" it by disabling some apps on their PCs. All of these options are not official and have only provided temporary relief from the issue.
With reports of the issue spamming back for over four years, finally, a solution has been released to stop the minor fault. Here's how to get rid of those freezes when wanting to rejoice with friends after a good League of Legends match.
What is the fix for League of Legends and Discord?
A popular YouTuber has shared a fix to the annoying issue. Aechkey has first-hand experience with this issue as he is also a League of Legends player.
The strange fault can be solved by turning off the Debug Logging on the Voice and Video settings in Discord. These are used by developers to help solve bugs and issues within Discord. How ironic that the thing trying to help was actually causing the issue.
- Launch Discord.
- Click the cog icon on the bottom left corner.
- Find and click on “Voice & Video” in the left column.
- Scroll down and locate “Debug Logging.”
- Turn off “Debug Logging.”
- Restart Discord for the changes to be put in place.
Doing these steps should make the discord journey less bumpy and will mean that celebrations can be heard all around after taking that W in League of Legends.
A Reddit user did reach out to ask Discord devs the same question and received a different answer. According to SuperSaiyanUchiha, the Discord support suggested they install the Public Test Build (PTB) version of Discord, which is the beta version of the app.
