FIFA 16 Liverpool - For those gamers that don’t like playing online, manager mode is their FIFA haven. A place where you can take apart any team you want, and completely construct a new one, however you please. Sometimes though, it helps to have a helping hand in explaining how to best use different teams on Career Mode. So, RealSport have devised a team-by-team guide for anyone looking to start a manager mode on FIFA 16.
A list of some other useful FIFA guides: Complete Premier League Team-By-Team Guide For Completing Career Mode:
- Title hopefuls = Chelsea, Man City, Man Utd, Arsenal, Liverpool
- European football-chasers = Spurs, Everton, Leicester, Southampton, West Ham
- Mid-tablers = Newcastle, Stoke, West Brom, Swansea, Crystal Palace, Watford
- Relegation-battlers = Norwich, Bournemouth, Aston Villa, Sunderland
General Tips
- Always choose the lenient option when selecting your ‘financial strictness’. This way you get 85% of the money that the board receives from outgoing transfers to spend on new players
- Use the new ‘Training’ feature – even if you can’t be bothered to always carry out the drills, simulate 5 drills every week, it’s a useful way to help your players grow outside of matches
Budget
- Transfer budget - £39.5m
- Wage budget – £180k
What the team needs
- A winger
- A centre midfielder
- A centre-back
Who you should get rid of

A general rule here is to sell off players that are old (31+), as on FIFA, their ratings can deteriorate pretty fast, so it’s best to cash in on them while their still valuable. Below is the name of the Liverpool players you should get rid of and the lowest value at which you should sell that player:
- Lucas Leiva - £17 million
- Joe Allen - £6 million
Total Received = £12million
New Budget = £51.5m
Who you should buy (with the smaller budget)
If you can, aim to sign younger players, as FIFA has this thing for making a majority of all decent young players develop pretty well, even if they don’t in real life. If you can’t sell the 'deadweight' players, the following are those you can sign within your original budget (£39.5m):
Name: Hulk (84)
Cost:£27m (Porto)
Is he worth it?
- Hulk may not grow a great deal and is slightly old, but none of that matters. He has the pace, strength and technique to become a star on the right side of Liverpool’s midfield
Alternative option – Yacine Brahimi - £25.5m (Porto)

Name: Will Hughes (73)
Cost:£5m (Derby)
Is he worth it?
- Has bags of first team experience already despite his age. Get rid of Allen/Lucas and work Hughes into the squad, then sit back and watch him turn into a beast.
Alternative option – Lucas Romero - £6m (Velez)
Name:Matheus Doria (75)
Cost: £6m (Marseille)
Is he worth it?
- The star of Football Manager 2014 is ready to step into your first-team, but like Hughes, should be eased in with caution, as he’s one for the future, not right now
Alternative option – Eder Alvarez Balanta - £3.3m (River Plate)
Who you should buy (with the larger budget)
Name: Angel Correa (76)
Cost: £10m (Atletico)
Is he worth it?
- He’s a great wonderkid to bring off the bench if you’re not happy with your forwards. Also a wise signing if you eventually grow frustrated with either Coutinho/Firmino.
Name: Lazar Markovic (77)
Cost: £600k (Loan recall)
Is he worth it?
- Markovic is the super-sub you need, who can also double up as a right wing-back should you need him there.
- If it costs just 600k to get him back, do not hesitate to do so, but only if you have a spare few million lying around.
