A brand new FFXIV update is on its way for fans of the popular MMORPG, with the 6.25 patch set to arrive soon and bring a lot of unique content for fans to keep playing and levelling up their characters in.
Revealed via the 73rd "Letter from the Producer Live", FFXIV's producer Naoki Yoshida and global community manager Toshio Murouchi have revealed a lot of what we can expect in the 6.25 patch.
Here is all the important information we have.
FFXIV 6.25 Patch Release Date
The 6.25 Patch for FFXIV will be released on Tuesday, 18th October 2022 and will arrive along with the game's weekly reset at 12AM PST / 3AM EST/ 8AM GMT / 9AM CEST.
Once the reset is complete, the new content will begin to be added, with some additions scheduled for between the introduction of 6.25 and the next patch afterwards.
Quests
The feature attraction of the FFXIV 6.25 questline additions is the "Somehow Further Hildibrand Adventures", a new set of quests featuring the popular comedic character of Hildibrand, embarking on another adventure with him.
To start the questline, you'll have first needed to complete the previous Hildibrand quests beginning in Ul'dah and through to Endwalker.
Along with Hildibrand, new Weapon Enhancement Quests for the Manderville Weapons have been added and the new Beast Tribe known as the Omicrons are getting their own quests which focus on Botanists, Miners and fishers, a brand new source of EXP.
Dungeons
Perhaps the biggest addition being made in the 6.25 update of FFXIV is the brand new Variant and Criterion dungeons, both of which are set to shake up the endgame gameplay available for a long time.
The first type of dungeon, known as Variant Dungeons will be level 90 dungeons intended for 1-4 players meaning that they are playable alone. The difficulty of the dungeon will alter depending on how many players are involved and roles can be switched while the dungeon is ongoing.
The first of these Variant Dungeons known as "The Sil'dihn Subterrane", will also have branching paths, with progression routes changing depending on player decisions. an NPC will also accompany players.
The second set of Dungeons, known as Criterion Dungeons, will be harder than Variant Dungeons, requiring a 4-player party composed of a tank, healer and 2 DPS. The enemy structure will be different and there will be no NPC to accompany them.
There will be limited revives and resurrection abilities are also disabled.
These Dungeons also have "Savage" variants which make them harder including no revives, respawning enemies and more powerful enemies.
New Glamour
One of the more amusing parts of the 6.25 content shown was its brand-new glamour, with some new cosmetic outfits for your characters to wear on their adventures across the game.
The new glamour is spy-themed with Yoshida even joking about the popular Spy X Family series that is currently ongoing and how the outfits were seemingly inspired by it.
