Epic Games has made a massive acquisition, picking up the studio that created Fall Guys, Mediatonic.

Mediatonic Purchased by Epic Games

This massive move was announced on Tuesday, March 2nd via a blog post from Mediatonic. This blog post has clearly caught quite a buzz, as it's already causing 504 errors from the massive traffic rush to read up on the move!

In the post, Mediatonic gives their rationale behind the decision - "Joining forces with Epic will accelerate our plans to improve the game and bring Fall Guys to as many players as possible, while continuing to support the community."

We expect the future of Fall Guys will be bright backed by Epic Games, and that this will certainly not be the last we hear of Mediatonic, who are surely primed to push the next massive gaming phenomenon after continuing to push Fall Guys to the next level.

FREE TO PLAY?: Fall Guys may soon become free to play under Epic Games

This could hint at Fall Guys eventually becoming free to play. As it stands, the game already has microtransactions that could fuel a free to play model, but only time will tell.

One hint given in the Mediatonic purchase announcement is a bit of the FAQ section, which states - "Free-To-Play? Nothing to announce right now!"
