Evil Geniuses have had quite the year of League of Legends in 2022. After winning the Spring LCS playoffs, following a fantastic lower bracket run, they went on to represent NA at MSI.
They then went on to score 1st place in Summer Season, and despite being knocked back to the lower bracket in Playoffs by Cloud 9, they have continued to fight through and will face 100Theives in the lower Finals on Saturday.
This latest news from the Team though may mean they face an uphill battle if they want to contest the title once again. Let's look at what we know so far.

EG Danny to Step Down
Following a tight 5 game series with Team Liquid, ADC for Evil Geniuses, Kyle 'Danny' Sakamaki will be stepping down to focus on his mental health, following a statement from the Org's CEO.
Danny has been an instrumental part of EG's incredible journey in 2022. His ability to dish out damage and thwart death has been legendary, even earning him the Moniker 'Prince of Pentakills'.
However, the team and staff have been more than supportive of the young player's decision, recognising that the pressure of competition can be hard on even the most seasoned veterans.
With Veteran Canadian Support Vulcan by his side, Danny has led the League in Summer Season, with 88 Kills and a 7.5 KDA. His presence will be missed by teammates and fans alike, and he leaves big shoes to fill.
What's next for Evil Geniuses?
Evil Geniuses has yet to announce a replacement for their star AD carry, but with time not on their side it seems likely they will promote their Academy team ADC, Muhammed Hasan “Kaori” Şentürk.
With the org due to compete at the League of Legends World Championships later this year, time will tell how Kaori will settle in, or if they will have to pick up some new talent.
