Destiny 2: Beyond Light has now been a part of breaking the world record for the largest projected video game display ever made thanks to Xbox!
Here's how it came together.
Xbox Breaks World Record Projecting Destiny 2
In a very new way to promote a game's winter event, it seems that Xbox has kicked off Destiny 2 The Dawning 2020 with a bang, and a world record!
Xbox projected Destiny 2: Beyond Light via Xbox Series X from a mountaintop to create the largest projected video game display in the world.
You can watch the video covering the event below:
The Logistics
To break this massive world record took careful planning. It involved taking out plenty of high-tech equipment into the elements of the snowy top of Copper Mountain in Colorado.
This equipment includes three incredibly powerful projectors to pump out a grand total of 120,000 lumens of light!
In the end the projected game display spread 180.15 feet wide, and 105.97 feet tall for a total projected area of 19,090 square feet of screen.

All of this was done at an incredibly high altitude as well, certainly making room for some other unique firsts projecting from such a high place.
Destiny 2 The Dawning 2020
While we're sure the event wasn't done only to promote Destiny 2 The Dawning 2020, the game's Winter event, Xbox released the news and footage of this world record the same day of the event's premiere!
The Dawning will run from 15 December to 5 January, and will feature tons of new content over this time. That means it's the perfect time to hop into Destiny 2 if you've never tried it, and a great time to return if you have.

And don't worry, you won't need to project it from a mountaintop to enjoy the game.
