Will Cyberpunk 2077 Have Cheats?

Cheats have become less common in video games over recent years.

During the 80s and 90s, and even into the early 2000s, they were very common.

Who remembers typing idkfa and iddqd to get unlimited health, ammo, and God mode?

Some games still support them, either as in-game options or by using console commands.

Games such as Skyrim use console commands in order to activate cheats.

The Witcher 3 didn't ship with a console command option, but modders quickly found a debug console enabler.

This allowed players to use various cheats, as well as a free camera mode.

With mods and cheats being very popular among the PC community, it is possible that CD PROJEKT RED will just ship Cyberpunk 2077 with a workable console command option.

If not, we're sure modders will have it working within a few days.

There is also the option of using Trainers.

Trainers are player made programs that essentially do the same things at a push of a button.

They might allow for unlimited health, ammo, XP, money etc just by clicking the button for each one.

It is very likely that various Trainers are already in the works, WeMods already has a listing for one and it is very likely that a modder will release one on a site such as NexusMods.

There is also the chance that CDPR will just release a console command or even specific cheat codes, but that won't be known until the game is released.

What About PS5 & Xbox Series X|S?

CD Projekt Red have confirmed that the game will be coming to both the PS5 and Xbox Series X|S.

However, this won't be at launch and will instead be released hopefully sometime in 2021.

After 8 years of development, players will soon be able to explore Night City.

After 8 years of development, players will soon be able to explore Night City.

The good news is, due to both consoles' backwards compatibility, Cyberpunk 2077 will be playable on both next gen consoles at launch.

But, players will be using the PS4/Xbox One version of the game, meaning they won't get any of the improved graphics, ray tracing etc.

Will I Need To Buy The Game Again?

It has been confirmed that owners of the PS4 and Xbox One version of the game will be able to upgrade to the next gen version for free when it is released.

CD Projekt Red confirmed on Twitter that "a later upgrade to Cyberpunk 2077, taking full advantage of the next-gen hardware, will be available for free."

Multiplayer

Cyberpunk 2077 is intended to have a multiplayer aspect to it.

However, this won't be available at launch.

There has been no official confirmation on when multiplayer will be released, but it is expected to be some time in 2021 or early 2022.

This shows that CD Projekt Red are intending on supporting the game for a long time.

Unfortunately, this means it might be a while before we see The Witcher 4, although we suspect it has already been in development for quite some time.

Day One Patch

DreamcastGuy has revealed that the game will have a 43GB patch on day one.

This is only confirmed for the Xbox One, but it is likely the size won't vary too much across all platforms.

Cyberpunk 2077 went gold shortly before its initial release date, meaning that this version will have been the one manufactured onto physical disks.

So with CD Projekt Red taking more time to work on the game, it is understandable we're seeing a large day one patch.

The update will mainly fix any issues the game might have, as well as improving textures and other graphical elements.
