While we don't expect it will be the Cyberpunk 2077 multiplayer many players are hoping for, it'll be the first big injection of new content to the game since release outside of updates focusing on bug fixes.
Does Cyberpunk 2077 Have Multiplayer?
Cyberpunk 2077 is intended to have a multiplayer aspect to it.
There has been no official confirmation on when multiplayer will be released, but it will be free to all players who own the game when it does eventually arrive.
Multiplayer Release Date
During a call with investors back in January, CD Projekt Red said that multiplayer likely won't be ready until 2022.
This was back when the game was originally due for release in September, so the further three months of delays may push multiplayer back further, as it won't be released until the single player version has multiple pieces of DLC released.
“Given the expected release of Cyberpunk 2077 in September, and frankly speaking the series of events which we expect to occur after that date, 2021 appears unlikely as a release date for the Cyberpunk multiplayer.”
Multiplayer Game Modes
There has been no confirmation regarding what modes the game will have.
CD Projekt Red have hired Digital Scapes to help with the multiplayer, the dev team behind Dying Light's Be The Zombie PVP mode.

So this could indicate a direction the multiplayer aspect could take.
A logically step would be to include some deathmatch type modes and modes with vehicle play and races.
With CDPR hiring outside help, it shows the multiplayer aspect will be quite large and it is possible they may go in a direction similar to GTA and Red Dead online.
Concerns
Cyberpunk 2077 has been relentlessly attacked by critics for its many bugs and poor performance standards on current gen consoles, poor optimization on PC and next gen consoles, and general issues all around.
While the game is clearly very promising, this is even leading to a Cyberpunk 2077 class action lawsuit from investors against CD Projekt Red, and a massive wave of refunds CDPR have promised for current gen players.
