As mentioned in our top games out in May list, the team at RealSport101 are quite excited for this multiplayer steal-em-up, but you might be asking yourself "Can I play Hood: Outlaws and Legends single player?"
When you just don't feel like socialising or have one of those pesky power cuts, a single player mode would really help out.
That's what we're here today to investigate. Although we don't have a definitive answer, it seems pretty clear from the trailers what experience Sumo DIgital want you to have whilst playing Hood: Outlaws and Legends.
Can You Play Hood: Outlaws & Legends Single Player?
Fundamentally, Hood is a multiplayer game. It is lined up with a competitive edge and part of its progression and learning curve is based on predicting your opponents' moves.
We don't know if it has an offline mode or tutorial with bots, but it seems rather unlikely right now.
Hood is known as a PvEvP game, meaning that unsureness of your opponent's actions is what makes encounters work.
When you remove the uncertainty of other human beings, the systems start to become a little hollow. For this reason, it's unlikely there will be a dedicated offline mode.
This being said, as rounds seem quite long, we may receive AI controller characters when your teammates ragequit, like those found in Rocket League.
What Is Hood: Outlaws and Legends?
Perhaps the best way to explain why it might not have bots is to describe the game itself. In Hood, you play the role of an outlaw who steals from an authoritarian state. This handy video explains it well.
You and your buddies aren't the only ones looking for this treasure so you have to fight, kill, and sneak your way to it.
Take a little bit of For Honor, some Warhammer: Vermintide and mix it together with Rainbox Six Siege and you have an idea of what it offers.
