Can you play Apex Legends in split-screen mode?
At the time of writing, Respawn Entertainment has not implemented any sort of split-screen mode in Apex Legends. There's no option to play this game with more than one player on the same platform.
Apex Legends is available on the Nintendo Switch now, though, and there is cross-platform matchmaking. So... If you're looking to sit down and play Apex Legends with someone next to you, there is a way. You'll just have to have someone put up with the smaller screen available with a Nintendo Switch (or both of you, if you want to keep things fair!)
Apex Legends is also coming to mobile devices in the future - however, this is shaping up to be an independent version of the game in a similar fashion to how COD Mobile is a separate entity from the mainline Call of Duty games: Black Ops Cold War, Vanguard, Warzone, etc.
Respawn Entertainment's decision to exclude split-screen features from Apex Legends isn't surprising, but it might also change in the future. Apex Legends is always evolving and new features are always being implemented. People have been asking for split-screen too, so it could be something we see in the future.
At the moment, though, it looks like Apex Legends' development team are focusing on fully implementing cross-progression and next-gen console support - which could be a native Apex Legends release on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. You can see it being mentioned in a Tweet below:
