Call of Duty Vanguard looks insane and it sounds like it's going to offer up one of the more exciting narratives this November. Sledgehammer Games has just shared our first Campaign Trailer for Call of Duty Vanguard and it showcases a few locations, a few Operators, and a lot of killing. Here's what you need to know...
CAMPAIGN TRAILER - Vanguard's fight is worth fighting
Call of Duty Vanguard's latest Trailer reveals all about the narrative being pieced together by Sledgehammer Games. The Second World War is over, but the Nazi party is far from dead.
Arthur Kingsley takes point, but there's a whole cast of characters being brought together to hunt the remnants of the Third Reich and stop the Fourth Reich from starting in the wake of Germany's defeat. It's going to be epic and you can watch the trailer for yourself below:
OPEN BETA - When can we play?
Call of Duty Vanguard's Open Beta is going to take place across two weekends - the first one is going to be a PlayStation-exclusive Open Beta, though.
Following the Vanguard Multiplayer reveal on September 7th, we're going to be able to jump into the Open Beta on the following dates:
- Open Beta Weekend One - PlayStation Only
- September 10th to September 13th
- Open Beta Weekend Two - All Platforms
- September 18th to September 20th
It's worth noting that Open Beta Weekend One is only available to Call of Duty players who have pre-ordered Vanguard. In addition to this, if you have pre-ordered Vangaurd, you can jump into Open Beta Weekend Two from September 16th!
TRAILER - Launch Cinematic Showcases "Heroes" of the War
It's time to experience the creation of Special Forces through a multinational campaign spread across the Second World War. There's going to be four playable characters throughout the campaign for Vanguard and we can't wait to learn more about their story.
For now, though, all we have is the Launch Trailer - which you can see below:
Call of Duty Vanguard is going to launch with 16 core multiplayer maps - which is the most a Call of Duty game has ever had - new Gunsmith systems, "diverse areas", and more. Treyarch is running Zombies again this year, too, and we should find out more from them around the end of October.
When does Call of Duty Vanguard come out?
UPDATE: It has been confirmed that Call of Duty Vanguard will launch on November 5th, 2021.
According to leaks, Call of Duty Vanguard is currently scheduled to launch on November 5th, 2021. Looking back, this is only one week before Black Ops Cold War launched in 2020 - It seems like a plausible date to offer us in any sense.
At the moment, though, Sledgehammer Games has only shared the following...
Gamescom is right around the corner and we wouldn't be surprised if we saw more from Call of Duty Vanguard during the Opening Night Live showcase on August 25th.
Teasers, Leaks, and a whole lot more...
At the moment, we don't really know a whole lot else about what Vanguard is going to offer us as Call of Duty fans. We know the names of a few Operators that should be coming to Vanguard and Warzone in the future - Wade, Lucas, and Polina - and there's going to be weapons like the PPSh-41 included. However, that's about the extent of it.
At the moment, we only have the following Official Teaser clip:
Other than this, there's talk of Vanguard launching with 16 multiplayer maps, a Treyarch-run Zombies mode, and something called Champion Hill - which sounds a lot like Black Ops Cold War's Multi-Team Elimination modes. It's all exciting news, though, and we should hear more about Call of Duty Vanguard in the weeks and months leading up to launch.
A lot of people are claiming this could be the best Call of Duty game yet and we just hope they're right...
