Call of Duty Modern Warfare Tips: The best killstreaks you can use to rank up fast

Getting multiple kills in Modern Warfare without dying should be rewarded, right?

Well, Infinity Ward feel the same with this year’s killstreaks actually being very powerful and worthy of using.

This has not always been the case in the past, with
killstreaks like the SATCOM in Call of Duty Ghost being almost useless.

With 19 streaks to choose from, RealSport are here to help with which are the best and should definitely consider using.

UAV

  • 4 Kills
  • UAV recon ship that reveals the enemy locations on the minimap

With this year’s Call of Duty being heavily based on realism, when enemies shoot their weapons a red dot will not appear on the mini-map like it has done on CoD in the past.

That being said, the perfect killstreak to counter this is the UAV. The UAV is a four killstreak and will allow you to see the opposition on the mini-map.

However, if the enemy has the perk Ghost equipped, this will hide them – so make sure you are aware of this and account for enemies who are able to dodge the eyes in the sky.

What the UAV will allow you to do is evade trouble and pick up some easy kills, letting you build up to your other streaks. Moreover, the UAV can be used in any game mode, from Search and Destroy to Ground War.

This is because it only requires 4 kills without dying to achieve, and if you work hard in a game mode like Cyber Attack or Search and Destroy, it can really come in handy to win the game.

VTOL Jet

  • 8 Kills
  • Releases an initial missile barrage before guarding a location of a players choice

The VTOL Jet is a replica of the much-loved Harrier Strikes from Modern Warfare 2. Although, it is double the kills of a UAV, it will on average gain you five to 6 more kills.

We recommend using the UAV to help achieve the VTOL. If you can do this then you are well on your way to winning the game and earning streaks even higher than 8 kills.

Combining the VTOL with the perk Kill Chain (Killstreak kills count towards your next streak) you will almost certainly be able to unlock your next killstreak.

The VTOL is just as good as the Harriers used to be on MW2, if not better, and is ideal for game modes such as Ground War.

Thanks to the number of players there are to target if you are able to place it over a flag you are looking at 5-7 extra kills.

However, for game modes such as SnD this is probably not a suitable streak due to the number of rounds and lives you have. Instead, swapping this out for a Cruise Missile would work best.

Chopper Gunner

  • 10 Kills
  • Control an assault chopper armed with a turret and air to land missiles

The infamous Chopper Gunner makes its return in Modern Warfare, and oh boy is it fun to use. It is perhaps the most overpowered killstreak in the game, but what’s not to love… unless you happen to be on the receiving end.

The Chopper Gunner will certainly rake in a lot of kills, which is why it sits at the higher end of the killstreak list.

You have to be the right combination of good and lucky to activate a Chopper Gunner. Make sure you are challenging the right gunfights with the weapon you have in hand, and understand the spawns so you can cut the enemy off to gain the edge.

If you can do this then you will be well on your way to getting the 10 kills needed for it.

Take a look at the Chopper Gunner in action for the team at RealSport:

Make sure you select this as your third streak after both the UAV and VTOL.

If you are a more confident player when it comes to Call of Duty, the Chopper could be your second streak with either the Support Helo or Gunship for your third.
