Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2's gameplay reveal date has been announced following the action of the game's first trailer!

In a teaser titled "Ultimate Team," watchers of the trailer are welcomed by soldiers in a truck riding toward a battlefield. Within the truck, is the popular franchise character and the main attraction on the game's cover, Simon "Ghost" Riley, accompanied by other soldiers, namely Captain John Price. Kyle “Gaz” Garrick. John “Soap” MacTavish. Alejandro Vargas in what is called Task Force 141.

Once the soldiers arrive at their designated location and jump out of the vehicle, the trailer quickly shifts out of the truck and announces the date full gameplay reveal date, which is set to take place on June 8 at 1 pm EST.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2019's sequel is set to release on October 28, 2022. Its story focuses on Colombian drug cartels and according to a report from Video Games Chronicle, will be “a grittier take on Modern Warfare 2019's campaign,” with more of a focus on close-quarters combat alongside the tried and true Call of Duty feel.

Following the gameplay reveal next week which is set to be shown off during Geoff Keighley's Summer Game Fest according to a report from writer Tom Henderson via Exputer, fans of the franchise can expect a multiplayer reveal for August of this year.

Additionally, there are rumors hinting at a possible Steam return for the Call of Duty franchise as Modern Warfare 2's artwork showed up on Steam according to a Reddit post. If the rumors are confirmed, this would be the first new Call of Duty title to appear on the Steam launcher since Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered released on July 27, 2017.
