Call of Duty Cold War beta most downloaded in franchise’s history

Whilst beta’s for new Call of Duty games are somewhat recent for the franchise, the beta for Cold War claims the title as the most downloaded.

Initially, we expected the beta to close on October 19, however, following some exceptional Easter Egg cracking skills from the community, Treyarch extended it.

The extended beta proved extremely popular with fans, helping the game take the title of most downloaded.

Let’s jump in and take a closer look at what this all means!

The achievement was announced on the official Call of Duty Twitter, with a short montage of cinematic clips.

The wording could be duping us slightly however, as most downloaded does not always imply the most played.

Regardless of the numbers, to have successfully overseen the most downloaded beta in history is an achievement in itself!

This also comes a year after the Modern Warfare beta, which Activision proclaimed as “the biggest ever in franchise history”.

Treyarch hasn't released exact details of the weapon just yet, but it sure does look good in its black, yellow and white colour scheme.
