Treyarch Studios has surprised the Call of Duty community by releasing an update for Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War. The update brings on a remastered version of the WMD Multiplayer map from Black Ops 1, the new Vargo 52 Assault Rifle, and a new Bundle.
Here's everything you need to know about the new patch.
Black Ops Cold War Update (March 4)
Announced by Treyarch Studios via a Call of Duty Blog, this new update will bring on some new content to Black Ops Cold War.
WMD Multiplayer Map
After nearly 12 years, Call of Duty players will once again be able to set foot on the abandoned weapons facility, WMD, a map from the original Call of Duty Black Ops.
WMD is a large Multiplayer map featuring a multitude of power positions through its interior and exterior areas. Known for its plenty of high-ground positions, Operators will want to look immediately for the vantage points right off the rip. Additionally, players can expect tons of gunfights towards the middle of the Production Facility.
Many of the objective modes will feature locations on the ground floor of the map, particularly in vulnerable areas that players from the vantage points can take advantage of. Thankfully for the players who like to play for the team and dive for objectives, the seemingly disadvantageous ground level is filled with several objects that offer cover as they traverse through the map.

New Weapon: Vargo 52 Assault Rifle
Described as a "mean weapon" according to Treyarch, the Vargo 52 thrives where versatile equipment reigns. In Zombies, with the perfect attachments, it'll blast any undead foe in sight.
Per its in-game description, "Full-auto assault rifle. Good damage at mid-range with a fast fire rate. Improved muzzle velocity and reliable handling for steady firing control."
The Vargo 52 will be available on both Multiplayer and Zombies. Here's how to unlock them:
Multiplayer
- Using Assault Rifles, deal 1000 damage in 15 different completed matches.
Zombies
- Using Assault Rifles, deal 1000 damage in 15 different completed matches.
Ferro Fury Reactive Mastercraft Bundle
Players looking to get the Vargo 52 to start off the new update can look into getting the "Ferrofluid" Weapon Blueprint as part of the Tracer Pack: Ferro Fury Reactive Mastercraft Bundle once the update goes live on both Black Ops Cold War and Warzone via the in-game store.
Additionally, to the "Ferrofluid" Assault RIfle Blueprint, the Bundle features the "Viscosideath" LMG Blueprint, the "Liquid Metal" SMG Blueprint, “Bullet Magnet” Charm, “Cranial Magnetism” animated Calling Card, the “Ferro-Charlie” Sticker, the “Spiked” Reticle, and the “Fluid Manipulation” Gesture.
As always, players will need to complete the in-game challenge to unlock the base version of the weapon. But with the help of the Blueprint, that'll be a breeze.
