Hallows' Eve Outbreak: How to beat the hordes in Cold War Zombies' new mode

"The Haunting" is bringing the spook to Call of Duty Warzone and Black Ops Cold War - and that spook comes with a few challenges. The "Ghosts of Verdansk" mode in Warzone can be quite tough, but the undead of Black Ops Cold War's Hallows' Eve Outbreak mode is the real threat you should be taking on this Halloween season.

This onslaught of Zombies is not for the faint of heart - Hallows' Eve Outbreak pits throws you into an Outbreak Zone for ten minutes with one objective: survive. Every two minutes it gets harder and there's an Orda roaming around, too.

There are only two ways out: Exfil or death. If you want to take the former option, we've got a few tips and tricks that should help keep you alive.

Hallows' Eve Outbreak - Tips on how to survive

Below, we're going to throw a handful of tips at you - and we advise you to take them if you want to make it out of Hallows' Eve Outbreak's gauntlet alive...

Firstly, you need to KEEP MOVING in Hallows' Eve Outbreak.

In Outbreak, the undead come at you from every direction and there are very few places you can hide - with Mimics and Manglers around every corner, you need to keep ahead of the horde if you want to be caught up.

TANKS FOR THAT - They sound like a good idea, but they're slow...

We also recommend that you keep on your feet - as opposed to getting into a vehicle. In the latter moments of the Hallows' Eve Outbreak onslaught, Temptests pop up thick and fast. They can disable and destroy vehicles with ease and these moments of disruption are enough to get you killed if you're not careful.

On top of this, make sure you're READY TO KEEP FIGHTING the endless hordes.

Like any game of Zombies, picking the right weapon is an important choice. In Hallows' Eve Outbreak, you're going to need to keep killing for an entire ten minutes so make sure you pick something that's good at killing Zombies.

The Gallo is an easy first choice, however, something like the Stoner is also a safe bet if you make sure you pick up Speed Cola and Stamin-Up sooner rather than later. Whatever you decide to choose, know your limitations. If you need to reload an LMG, make sure you're picking your moments. Sometimes running is the best option when survival is the objective.

If you want to upgrade, it's important to KEEP A WAY OUT HANDY and buy yourself some time.

In Hallows' Eve Outbreak, you can activate an Anomaly and spawn a Pack a Punch machine, Arsenal Station, Crafting Table, and Wunderfizz Perk Machine at several locations in the region. They only last a little while, but they're vital in keeping you appropriately levelled against the rising threat.

GO GO GADGET GRAPPLE GUN! - These can be useful, but if you get the Grapple wrong...

The only issue here is the Zombies aren't polite enough to stop while you pick your Perks - if you want to get yourself upgraded, you need time. This is why we recommend that you always keep a Stun Grenade or two handy - even a Monkey Bomb can be a life-saver! Aether Shroud can also be a good choice, but Healing Aura might be something you need to fall back on in a tight spot.

Finally, WATCH OUT FOR JACK-O-LANTERNS in and amongst the bodies.

On occasion, killing a Zombie in Hallows' Eve Outbreak will spawn a Jack-O-Lantern loot drop. Finding and opening these is the difference between survival and death. These contain high-tier loot - things like Chalice Pack a Punch upgrades, Scorestreaks, and Armour - to keep you fighting the good fight while the timer ticks on.
