Black Ops Cold War's newest game mode is arguably one of the most "Cold War" game modes Treyarch's Call of Duty title has seen. The Double Agent game mode is all about subterfuge and espionage and we can't wait to dive in. Here's everything you need to know about the new mode and what it all means...
The new Double Agent game mode explained
In Black Ops Cold War's Double Agent, you take one of three roles when you join a lobby:
- Double Agents, who must either eliminate everyone else or successfully set off explosive charges around the map.
- The Investigator, who can use clues to target suspected Double Agents as Wanted criminals.
- Operatives, who must work together to identify and eliminate the Double Agents before it’s too late.
Every role has access to different tools to help them complete their own objectives. If you are chosen to be a Double Agent, you have to work to kill everyone else or set off the explosives. As an Operative, it's up to you to work together to stop that from happening. Anyone could be a Double Agent, even your closest ally.
The Investigator is the person you need to keep alive. They can check out player death locations for clues and issue a Wanted Order on who they think the Double Agent is. It screams Among Us, but many people are comparing it to GMOD's Trouble in Terrorist Town mode.
Either way, it sounds like a lot of fun and you're going to need to keep your wits about you...
When does Double Agent come out?
UPDATE: Season 5 is out now and that means you can jump into Double Agent whenever you want! Good luck, Investigator.
