It was announced during the Tencent Video V Vision Conference that a second season for Riot's first League of Legends animated series, Arcane, would soon grace our screens, and we finally know when that is going to happen.

This news is making waves even beyond the League of Legends community, which is understandable given how Arcane set unprecedented Netflix records and, to many, stands as one of the most significant shows in the history of animation, winning an Emmy in 2022 for Outstanding Animated Program.

Arcane Season 2 Release Date Revealed

After the gripping cliffhanger at the end of season 1, fans were eager to know if a second season of the TV show was in the works. Fortunately, that was the case, and Season 2 of Arcane is coming to Netflix in November 2024, with the exact date yet to be revealed.

Arcane and League of Legends fans can now rejoice as doubts and speculations have been cleared up, and Season 2 is just a few months away.

Given that the show's developers didn't originally plan for a second season, and considering the six-year effort that went into creating season one, many fans are relieved that Riot didn't choose to rush a follow-up to capitalize on their initial success.

However, Riot Games has also confirmed that Season 2 will be the last season of Arcane with Jinx's and Vi's story coming to an end. So Season 2 will certainly be bitter-sweet for most fans of the show.

Arcane co-creator Christian Linke said that:

"since we started working on this project, we had a very specific ending in mind, which means the story of Arcane wraps up with this second season."

But fans shouldn't look at this as the end of Arcane, but the beginning of the Runeterra universe, as Christian Linke also confirmed Riot Games and animation studio Fortiche will continue to work together to bring more Runeterra stories to the big screen.

Many fans see this as the start of the Riot Games multiverse, which is quite exciting if it proves to be true, as League of Legends rich lore can give origin to other fantastic big-screen projects.

After masterful animation by studio Fortiche, coupled with top-notch writing and a captivating plotline in Season 1, fans are eager to witness how the gripping tale of Arcane comes to an end. It's widely acknowledged that, even if you're not a fan of League of Legends, Arcane has something for everyone.
