Apex Legends Mobile is currently in Season 3, with Season 4 rumoured to be approaching after a short delay. Ash arrived in the game with the last season, and fans were already hyped about what new content could be coming with the update.
Sadly though, none of this is to be. Apex Mobile will be sunset later this year, after a difficult decision by Respawn Entertainment. Here's everything you need to know about when and why it's shutting down.

When is Apex Legends Mobile Shutting Down?
January 31st marks the beginning of a 90-day sunset period for the beloved mobile version of Apex. After its release date in May 2022, the game will only live out around a one-year lifespan, coming to an end on May 1st, 2023.
While this decision is completely platform-specific, and will not affect the PC and console versions in any way, it is a disappointing development for fans. Although we never saw much interaction between the two platforms, it will be sad to see Apex Legends Mobile go.
All in-game purchases and currency will be valid until the sunset date, but no refunds will be issued after that. While this is frustrating for fans, the lack of cross-progression would make this transition difficult.
Why is Apex Mobile Shutting Down?
According to a statement from Respawn, here is the reason that the mobile game will be shut down:
Following a strong start, the content pipeline for Apex Legends Mobile has begun to fall short of that bar for quality, quantity, and cadence. It is for this reason, after months of working with our development partner, that we have made the mutual decision to sunset our mobile game.
That being said, they have certainly left the door open to Apex returning to a mobile format. Hopefully, for fans, this will mean a mobile game that gels and works much better with the PC and Console versions.
