Respawn Entertainment's massively popular battle royale is finally coming to Android and IOS devices in the form of Apex Legends Mobile and fans already have many questions about the future of the game.
One of the bigger questions surrounds the roster of Apex Legends Mobile characters that will be coming to the game, with players wanting to know if their favourite legend will be playable. Here's what we know so far.
Will Every Legend Be Playable in Apex Legends Mobile?
When it comes to characters, Apex Legends Mobile is a little bit complicated. We know that the battle royale only features nine of the 21 legends found in the PC, PlayStation, Xbox and Nintendo Switch versions and may eventually grow to include all of the currently available characters but we also know that Apex Legends Mobile will feature a completely new character called Fade who is, as of writing, completely exclusive to the mobile version.
Fade, who is a variation of the character Wraith, has been described as a "Mobile-first legend" by Respawn, suggesting that the character won't be appearing in the main Apex Legends game right away though it isn't entirely out of the question.
When asked about Fade's position as a Legend only playable on mobile, Senior Product Director for Apex Legends Mobile Myke Hoff said that “Having mobile Legends is important for us, because it allows us to create stuff that’s unique to our players, and really highlights how they engage with the game that might be different.” which suggests that Apex Legends Mobile might grow to have a unique roster when compared to the original.
As for the rest of the roster, the nine currently playable Apex Legends Mobile characters include Bangalore, Bloodhound, Caustic, Gibraltar, Lifeline, Mirage, Octane, Pathfinder, and Wraith.
Regarding other Apex Legends characters from the main game (which Respawn refer to as HD), Design Director for Apex Legends Mobile Jordan Patz suggested that the team wouldn't just be porting over the roster stating that they want "players excited about what new content is coming..." and "not just which [existing] thing are we going to choose to bring in." which further suggests that Apex Legends Mobile will be getting a unique roster with characters exclusive to it and it alone.
It doesn't mean that more legends won't make the jump; just don't be too set on seeing your favourite character on your phone screen anytime soon.
