Overwatch is pretty well known for having tonnes of unique events and even more skins. If you're looking for a reason to come back, all of the customization options certainly help. This week, after some huge Microsoft news, plenty of rumours have been flying about the future of Overwatch.
A new skin has just been celebrated by the Halo team. Maybe we could see it arrive? Here's what you should know.
Overwatch Halo Skin
The Overwatch Halo skin was created by Washington Justice, an official Overwatch team. This was then acknowledged by the Halo account.
It shows Soldier 76 as a recruit in Halo, donning the signature armour. This could be a great skin that could be made even better by alternate looks. Perhaps, one day, we could see this as a reward for those playing Overwatch on Xbox.
Why did they do this?
On Tuesday, Xbox purchased Activision Blizzard for $70 billion, making it the biggest acquisition in video game history. The second biggest also happened this year when Take Two acquired Zynga for $12.7 billion.
This means Overwatch, Call of Duty, World of Warcraft, Crash Bandicoot and so much more is being welcomed into the Xbox umbrella. If all goes well for the company, this could mean a Call of Duty game on Xbox Game Pass every single year.
Needless to say, the service just got much better. It seems likely that Sony will pick up a big publisher next, to make up for this huge move.
Despite Xbox's success, this could set a worrying precedent in the games industry, where 3rd party publishers are snapped up by bigger companies, effectively locking off most of the gaming market.
If the deal goes through as expected, it seems like Overwatch and Call of Duty will have tonnes of small crossovers in the future.
