Xbox's Games With Gold programme has been mediocre for some time. Rarely awful but never excellent, we tend to see some older games and indies to play. This is what we know about Xbox Games With Gold in June 2022 so far.
Xbox Games With Gold June 2022 Release Date
There are two important dates to pay attention to in regard to Xbox Games With Gold. The first is the announcement date - the time when we know what the games will be. This generally happens at the very end of the month, typically the last Wednesday. If this is true, we should see them on Wednesday, May 25th.
After the games are announced, we tend to see them launch on the first day of the next month. If this happens, we can expect them to arrive on Wednesday, June 1st - exactly one week after the announcement.
Last Month’s Games
We got a pretty mediocre month last month. There was nothing awful but also nothing standout. They were also all fairly cheaper games. At full price, they were less than $60, a pretty low price point for Games With Gold.
The games were:
- Yoku’s Island Express ($19.99 ERP): Available May 1 to 31
- The Inner World – The Last Wind Monk ($19.99 ERP): Available May 16 to June 15
- Hydro Thunder Hurricane ($9.99 ERP): Available May 1 to 15
- Viva Piñata Party Animals ($9.99 ERP): Available May 16 to 31
Our Predictions
Unfortunately, predictions are infamously a bit hard to make when it comes to Games With Gold. Generally, we see a AAA title or two from the Xbox 360 era and two older indie games on Xbox One. We can expect June to do the exact same thing. Given Summer Game Fest and the Xbox and Bethesda Showcase are on, we can hope for something a little better to celebrate.
