We're not even a week into the New Year and Xbox is already dropping huge announcements on us. Rainbow Six Siege is coming to PC Game Pass, Rainbow Six Extraction is releasing on Game Pass and PC Game Pass on Day One, and Ubisoft+ is coming to Xbox consoles in the future? It's hard to think of anything that could top that!

Well... Except for one thing... With Rainbow Six Extraction coming to Game Pass, everyone's asking the same question: is Ubisoft+ going to merge with Xbox Game Pass like EA Play?

Is Ubisoft+ going to merge with Xbox Game Pass?

As nice as this sounds, it doesn't look like we're going to see Ubisoft+ merge with Xbox Game Pass in the same way that EA Play titles are integrated into the groundbreaking service.

Following the announcement regarding Ubisoft+'s arrival on Xbox consoles, a lot of people had the same question and Ubisoft had the same answer.

Here are a few of the replies - they all pretty much say "no, they're separate services" though...

What does this mean? Well, it means that you're going to have to pay for Ubisoft+ on top of Game Pass if you want access to the service. This might be cheaper than picking up a new triple-A title every month, so it's worth considering. However, when you couple this with Game Pass and the other monthly subscriptions you're paying out... It all starts to add up.

What actually is Ubisoft+ anyway?

In an effort to avoid over-confusion, Ubisoft+ is a monthly service that is essentially Xbox Game Pass for Ubisoft titles. At the moment, it's only available on PC - however, that's clearly about to change...

Here's what Ubisoft has said about it - this about sums it up...

" Originally launched for PC, the service allows access to more than 100 Ubisoft titles at a single monthly cost, with games and DLC available on launch day, and monthly rewards including cosmetics, boosters, in-game items, and more."

With Ubisoft+, you can download and play Ubisoft games on Day One - much like how you can get Xbox Studios games on Day One with Xbox Game Pass. Having both is going to make Xbox a fantastic place to play the newest games from the biggest developers.
