When Is Major Nelson's Announcement?

If you're new to Xbox, you might not know this, but Xbox's Larry Hryb always announces the upcoming Games With Gold titles at the same time each month.

We're not sure why they chose him to do it specifically, but he does a good job of it and they're always on time. Thankfully, Xbox's decision makes predicting when the announcement is due to drop pretty easy.

If nothing goes wrong, we should be getting the June 2021 Games With Gold announcement on May 25th at around 11:00 EST / 16:00 BST. It's always on the last Tuesday of the month and this month, it's exactly a week before the release date.

And, When Will They Be Free?

What day is a week from May 25th? June 1st, of course!

Xbox's Games With Gold titles always add at least two of the four free games to the service on the first of the month. This is usually one Xbox One title and one Xbox 360 title.

Following this, they rotate the titles out with another two games mid-month. It's a little hard to explain, so we'll show you an old announcement so you can see what we mean.

As you can see, Vikings: Wolves of Midgard and Dark Void were added at the start of the month. Then, the other two games were added mid-month. Dark Void was only available for the first half of the month, though. So, it's worth adding all of them to your Game Library as soon as you can.
