WWE 2K22 MyGM lets you play GM Mode online with friends for the first time

WWE 2K22 MyGM is a highly anticipated piece of this year's game as they revitalize GM Mode for a new era of gamers.

One key feature we've now learned about will be truly game-changing for many when it comes to WWE 2K22 and online play.

WWE 2K22 MyGM will allow online GM Mode with friends for the first time

WWE 2K22 MyGM news continues to roll out now that the game has been formally announced, and much of it is coming straight from the developers.

WWE 2K22 Creative Director Lynell Jinks and WWE 2K22 Art Director Christina Diem Pham have both taken the time to do a handful of interview with content creators ahead of launch.

One key conversation from last week included several revelatory details, but the MyGM conversation dropped a big one for GM Mode fans.

In the interview, Jinks confirmed that "it's not just against a CPU, you can play against another person" as he spoke about the competitive nature of MyGM.

TAKE CONTROL: You can hit MyGM and try to build the best brand possible

This returning GM Mode will challenge players to manage their brand's money and roster as they aim for better ratings and more show success. In the past, that was also something you could do in a competitive co-op sitting on your couch with a friend.

With MyGM reviving GM Mode for the first time in the modern online play era, they've added a crucial detail in that you'll be able to play with friends online for the first time.

Jinks confirmed that while there won't be an online lobby for MyGM to find random players to play with, you can link up with other players on your friends list and compete against one another by controlling different brands.

MyGM and GM Mode will hopefully include crossplay features

One question left unanswered here is whether there will be crossplay in this kind of online MyGM competition with friends.

We've learned that they will be bringing cross-platform Community Creations to the table for the first time this year.

That means that arenas, championships, and superstars created from scratch by the many WWE 2K creators will be accessible on all platforms once uploaded instead of only the platform it was uploaded from.

While we're hoping this is a sign that crossplay will also be on the table, they've yet to go any further and confirm that possibility, but we're hoping to learn those details ahead of launch.
